Momia and the Ice Cream Girl

Jason's Jelly (Deli) is one of the kids favorite places to eat and we go at least once a week. I have convinced myself that the food is relatively healthy, so I don't feel too bad about it. Half of the reason they love to go so much is the free ice cream at the end.

Brandt's favorite has always been the grilled cheese and when he was younger and Campbell was a baby, I would give her pieces of his grilled cheese. And then, to keep her busy while we finished eating, I would give her a cone to chew on and she loved them.

Obviously she still does!

Momia? Her new name for me. Not sure where that came from. Today we had a momia and Campbell day courtesy of Rachel. Can I tell you how great it is to have her here!

Crappy Patties

Brandt loves Sponge Bob and against my better judgement, I finally let him start watching it several months ago. Up until then it had been banned in our house, but all his friends watch it and I didn't want him to be the weird kid that couldn't watch it. I watched it a couple of times and besides being annoying, there was really nothing he should not be watching.
For those of you lucky enough not to have seen this piece of animated genius, I'll summarize - Sponge Bob lives in a pineapple at the bottom of the ocean and works at the Crusty Crab where he makes crabby patties. They look something like hamburgers and he is the chief fry cook. I think that I am a little embarrassed to admit that I know all of this (of course I can tell you quite a bit about the Wonder Pets and Dora too).
Anyway, the kids favorite bathtub game right now is to play Sponge Bob. They pretend to work at the Crusty Crab and take each others orders and then make the food. Campbell always orders the same thing - 2 Crappy patties, french fries, a drink and a toe (toy). In her world all food should come with toys. I know that I shouldn't be letting her say crappy, but it is so cute, I just can't help it. Besides, it's Sponge Bob - they probably are crappy!
She probably shouldn't be watching 'Ponge Bob either (or so much tv period), but that's another story. And tv can be educational, do you know where red eyed tree frogs live or what spectacled bears eat? Diego can teach you!

Invisible Friends

Campbell can entertain herself for hours playing in her room. She takes care of her babies, plays with her dollhouse, plays dress up, goes grocery shopping, does laundry, reads books, the list goes on and on. I can hear her singing and talking the whole time. Recently I went upstairs to check on her and she was deep in conversation with her "friend". They were discussing which shoes to wear with the Little Mermaid dress and it was quite a conversation. I stood outside her room to listen as she tried on each pair and asked Gracie what she thought.
Later that day when we went to run errands, she climbed into the back seat and buckled the seat belt to buckle invisible Gracie in. She consulted Gracie while choosing cereal at the grocery store, took her with us to carpool line, and she even joined us for a bath. She has gone almost everywhere with us for the past couple of weeks. The funny thing is, she really does have a friend named Gracie. It has been almost a year since we have seen her. She is the younger sister of one of Brandt's friends from preschool and since they still live in Dallas, we haven't seen them since moving to Frisco. I can't believe she remembers her after a year.

Time Flies

Every time I sit down to write a new blog entry, something else seems to happen. So many things have happened and there are so many things I want to write. I assume one day time will return to normal and I will catch up.
Blake is now now month old. We had his check up last week and he weighed 10 pounds, 8 ounces. 2 whole pounds since he was born! He is 22" long. He is in the 55th percentile for both height and weight. He is still just a little peanut compared to Brandt and Campbell, who where always 90th+ percentile.

Brandt also turned 6 this week. Hard to believe that our first baby is six and will be finished with Kindergarten in three weeks. We are half way through tee ball and he is having a great season.

Celebrating in College Station with our family

Campbell is almost finished with her first year of dance. We have her first recital June 13. She loves dance and is so excited about the recital. They are performing to Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. She and her BFF Brooklyn may not dance when they get on stage, but I am sure it will be a great show!

She did her own make!

Our Trip to the Zoo

Monday B was out of school, not for the swine flu, for a scheduled holiday. Not sure what to do with all three kids home for the whole day for the first time, I decided to brave the Dallas Zoo. We love the zoo and used to go all the time when we lived in Dallas, but it is a little far from Frisco. It has been more than a year since we have been and there are quite a few new things to see. Here are a few pictures...
