The Kids Crack Me Up

My kids say and do a million things a day that make me laugh. I know that I should be writing them all down because I will forget. How many things besides Gorka the worm eater and his brother Colton Powell did Ryan talk about that we no longer remember? I was really good about it with Brandt when he was younger, but have not done so well with Campbell and I'm sure that Cuckoo won't have a chance.

Two things this week are just stuck in my mind. The first 20 to 30 minutes after Brandt gets home from school are a little chaotic. He needs time to unwind, he and Campbell both want snacks, I need to unpack his lunchbox and check his packpack(Campbell's word). He gets to watch a little TV before we do reading, go for a walk or bike ride, or do any homework. This particular day, I came out of the bedroom to find Sponge Bob on and the TV paused. B came running out off the bathroom, unpaused the DVR and continued to watch. When I questioned what he was doing, he explained he did not want to miss anything while he went potty and then proceeded to rewind the part I had just interrupted so that he still did not miss anything. 5 1/2 and already a technology master.

Friday afternoon he and Campbell were arguing over what to watch. She wanted to watch Noggin and Wow, Wow Wubbzy was coming on. B thinks he is too old for Noggin and wanted to watch something else. His response to her was "Wubbzy is lame" (a great word he learned at school). She immediately started to cry that "It's not yame, it's not". (L's still come out as Y sometimes). I am not sure why it was so funny to me, but something about hearing a 3 year old cry that her cartoon was not lame and knowing she had no idea what it meant, was more than I could stand. In the end she was more mad at me because I could not stop laughing.

All Many is still my favorite and we say it all the time, but I'll keep working on writing down the others before they are forgotten just like Rachel's crowtons, which I still don't like in my salad.
